Fuel Purifiers
Fuel Water Separators
This purifier is based on surface tension principle and rotational fluid motion also known as “Cyclone Separation”.
The clean fuel is drawn out of the unit and into the primary fuel filter of the system. Water and contamination is drained from the bottom of the unit. This process continues as long as the engine fuel pump is operating.
With the Dieselcraft fuel/water separator, 100% of the free water in fuel and 95% of the large filter clogging contaminants that can cause engine performance problems are eliminated.
How the Fuel/Water Separator Works
This fuel and water separator is based on residence time and surface tension principle. Since diesel and water have different surface tension as well as density, when a mixture of diesel and water is spread over a large area water droplets and large solids will separate from the fuel.
The clean fuel is drawn out of the unit and into the primary fuel filter of your system. Water and contamination is drained from the bottom of the unit. This process continues as long as the engine fuel pump is operating.
In fuel water separation, the larger the surface area the better. Dieselcraft fuel/water separators are engineered for maximum “residence time” based on flow rate.
Residence Time is a broadly useful concept that expresses how fast something moves through a system in equilibrium. The longer the residence time the more time the two liquids are give to naturally separate and in turn the better the cleaning.
Dieselcraft utilizes matched flow rate to surface area and length plus activated alumina to get the water to agglomerate and drop out of the fuel.
Activated alumina is manufactured from aluminum hydroxide in a way that produces a highly porous material; that has a very high surface-area-to-weight ratio. That means it has a lot of very small pores, almost like tunnels, that run throughout it. This is the key to water removal in the Dieselcraft Purifier.
All units incorporate a water sensor port to install the optional sensor kit to detect water in fuel and alarm the operator when to drain they system.
The Dieselcraft purifiers are simple to install, and provides one more step in maintaining a high fuel quality that provides helps to increase, power, efficiency and engine dependability.
Any other system that is smaller in size that claims superior cleaning ability is defying the laws of physics. Bigger is better.
