In part 1 of our look at the DieselCraft Cyclone series of oil centrifuges, we covered the purpose and function of oil centrifuges, and provided an overview of the series. In this post, we’ll review each product in the series.

Self-powered centrifuges
OC-20 centrifuge
The OC-20 model is a self-powered oil centrifuge. The centrifuge features a flow rate of 3.5 litres per minutes (LPM)/210 litres per hour (LPH) with the recommended 4 passes, and a rotor holding capacity of 300 grams of contamination. The centrifuge measures 100mm x 150mm (diameter x height) and comes with a universal mounting plate measuring 1.8 m x 1.8 m. The mounting plate’s radius is designed to match the inside of 200 litre drums and includes a ¼ national pipe taper (NPT) female thread for fastening either the measuring plate to a threaded nipple or the return line.
OC-50 centrifuge
The OC-50 model is the larger self-powered oil centrifuge in the DieselCraft Cyclone series. The centrifuge features a flow rate that is twice as fast as the OC-20 (7 LPM/420 LPH) with the recommended 4 passes, and the rotor holding capacity is similarly double that of the OC-20 (600 grams of contamination). The centrifuge measures 140mm x 250mm (diameter x height) and comes with the same universal mounting plate and NPT thread as the OC-20.
Power supply centrifuges
OPS-20 Centrifuge
The OPS-20 model is a power supply oil centrifuge. The centrifuge features a flow rate of 3.5 litres per minutes (LPM)/210 litres per hour (LPH), and a rotor holding capacity of 300 grams of contamination. The centrifuge measures 406 mm x 1067 mm (diameter x height) is designed to stand next to a 200 litre drum. The OPS-20 also includes a 1500 watt band heater to keep fluids at an optimal temperature for separation.
The all-bronze pump and motor generate a maximum 100 PSI of continuous pressure and operate at 1480 repetitions per minute (RPM). The pump and motor include automatic thermal overload protection and include an open, drip-proof enclosure. The pump has a maximum operating temperature of 90 degrees C.
OPS-50 Centrifuge
The OPS-50 model is a the other power supply oil centrifuge in the DieselCraft Cyclone series. The centrifuge features a flow rate that is twice as fast as the OPS-20 (7 LPM/420 LPH), and a rotor holding capacity that is double the capacity of the OPS-20 (600 grams of contamination). The centrifuge has the same measurements, heater and pump and motor as the OPS-20.
